B2 · 22 июня · 1 мин

Rolin Jones admits that changes to Anne Rice's source material in the latest episode might upset fans, but they were necessary for the show.

The showrunner of 'The Vampire Lestat' has acknowledged that the third episode, titled 'Toronto,' will likely disappoint some fans. Rolin Jones explained that altering Anne Rice's original story was a difficult decision, but it was made to serve the narrative. He emphasized that the changes were not made lightly, as the team deeply respects Rice's work.

In the episode, viewers see Lestat de Lioncourt pursuing his rock star ambitions, a departure from the books. Jones noted that while the core of the character has been preserved, certain plot points had to be adjusted. He added that the creative team hoped fans would appreciate the new direction, even if it initially feels 'a little disappointing.'

The showrunner also revealed that the cast and crew worked hard to capture the spirit of the source material. Sam Reid, who plays Lestat, collaborated closely with the creators to stage a memorable musical performance. Jones said that once the scene was perfected, they simply 'got the f— out of the way' and let the actors shine. The episode is now streaming on AMC+.
