China Builds World's Fastest Supercomputer

China's new supercomputer LineShine is the fastest in the world, even without US-made chips.

China has built the world's fastest supercomputer. It is called LineShine. This computer does not use any GPUs from the United States. The US has strict rules about selling high-powered computer parts to China.

LineShine is now number one on the TOP500 list. It pushed the American supercomputer El Capitan to second place. This is the first time since 2018 that China has the top spot. The US still has many supercomputers on the list.

The US government limits what computer parts it can sell to China. But China found a way to build a fast computer without those parts. LineShine shows that China can compete with the US in supercomputing. This is a big achievement for Chinese technology.
