Apple Warns of Price Increases and Anniversary iPhone Rumors
Apple CEO Tim Cook says price increases are unavoidable due to rising memory costs, while rumors about a 20th anniversary iPhone and new perks for Apple customers emerge.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company will raise prices on some products. He told The Wall Street Journal that the high cost of memory and storage makes price increases unavoidable. Apple tried to shield customers from the increases, but the situation became unsustainable. Cook did not say which products will cost more or how much prices will go up.
In other news, rumors about a 20th anniversary iPhone are growing. The device will have an edge-to-edge display with curved glass. It will come in two sizes, similar to the iPhone 18 Pro models. The anniversary iPhone will launch next year alongside a second-generation foldable iPhone. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 will get 12GB of RAM for better AI features, but its price may stay the same.
Apple customers can also enjoy new perks. Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders now get a free one-year Apple TV subscription. Apple One subscribers can receive a discount instead. Additionally, macOS 27 Golden Gate is in beta and adds new Siri AI features. iOS 27 brings landscape mode to more apps, which may prepare for a future foldable iPhone.
