Apple Releases Second Beta of visionOS 27 for Developers
Apple has seeded the second beta of visionOS 27, introducing Siri AI and new immersive features for the Vision Pro.
Apple has released the second beta of visionOS 27 to developers, arriving two weeks after the first beta. The update can be installed by opening the Settings app, navigating to Software Updates, and opting into Beta Updates. This beta continues Apple's testing cycle ahead of a public release later this year.
One of the most significant additions is Siri AI, a smarter version of the assistant that functions similarly to chatbots like ChatGPT. On the Vision Pro, Siri can answer questions about anything the wearer is looking at, and a new Siri orb can be placed anywhere in the virtual space. Additionally, panorama photos can be transformed into spatial environments, and a new Icelandic Thórsmörk environment features dramatic mountains, valleys, glaciers, and the northern lights.
App windows have been curved to create a more immersive workspace, and Control Center has been reorganized for easier access to system controls. A smaller widget size has been added, and notifications now expand automatically when the wearer looks at them. Web Environment support allows developers to create 360-degree environments in Safari, enhancing the browsing experience on the Vision Pro.
